Music is one of the most powerful conveners of people. So with the draw of today’s most popular artists, the Global Citizen Festival aimed to use music as its platform to unite tens of thousands of fans in Central Park and millions more online in the fight against extreme poverty. For two-years running, the Festival turned to HUMAN as its storytelling and production partner tasked with framing this music event with its artists and fans, in a broader, inspiring narrative that united and mobilized a community of global citizens.
For this ambitious undertaking, HUMAN architected media and messaging that captured powerful sentiments from featured artists including Neil Young, Foo Fighters, Alicia Keys and John Meyer, tying them more deeply to the cause. Further, we created 20 issue-specific films that illuminated the underlying factors of global poverty and empowered the audience as champions in the eradication of extreme poverty.
Beyond the content we created, HUMAN also ensured that the scenic design in Central Park truly amplified the narrative we created as well as helped to bring some of the most powerful world leaders to the stage as ambassadors of the Global Citizen’s movement.
